The Cup on University Avenue recently reintroduced its signature fall drink. Barista Kyle Raines crafts these lattes for customers every day.
His process starts with Unicorn Blood espresso beans. Raines grinds the beans and puts the grounds into the espresso machine. His aim is to pack the grounds tight enough to get espresso to pour for about 30 seconds. While the espresso is brewing, Raines steams a cup of milk.
Then, Raines mixes the espresso with the pumpkin-flavored syrup and chai. Finally, he adds the steamed milk to the mixture to complete “The Great Pumpkin.”
