“Whether it comes to buying cute shoes, or going to a party, I have to know when I don’t have the money or when it’s time to say yes.”
“I do not work. It’s usually pretty easy to manage school and a social life, it’s all about prioritizing.
I take my planner with me everywhere I go and I write down all of my tasks and obligations. It really helps, whether it’s school work, or clubs, or anything else that I’ve agreed to attend. Although, school always comes first in my book.
Make sure you eat lunch with your friends, or have a movie night every once in awhile. It’s all about moderation, honestly. Not having a job is usually not a problem for me, because my parents do give me money when I need it. However, I am well aware that money doesn’t grow on trees and I can’t expect them to always give me money when I want it.
The most challenging part of all of this would definitely have to be knowing when to say no. Whether it comes to buying cute shoes, or going to a party, I have to know when I don’t have the money or when it’s time to say yes.
I’m definitely still working on my self-control when it comes to stuff like that, but I know it’s something that will come with age and will continue to improve as I grow and improve myself.” -Alex Crump, 19
